Improved, Extensible Dashboard Architecture

With Beta 12, we introduce a completely revamped Dashboard built on a extensible base. This means that it's now possible to add more rich and useful widgets and content to the dashboard using Dashboard plugins. It opens up a new opportunity for 3rd party developers to join the Joomla learning revolution we are starting with Shika and contribute some snazzy Dash plugins.

Quizzes now support multiple attempts

Beta 12 brings multiple attempts to Quizzes. This has been a planned feature for v1.0 but we hadn't got down to testing and ensuring it worked properly.

Why new features after the feature freeze?

While the current branch of Shika is Beta, we have a lesser featured stable branch that's being used for several project clients for custom development projects. While working on these we discovered that we were getting continuous requests for new dashboard widgets to show content and graphs based on various metrics..

This data was coming not just from Shika but was a mashup of various internal and external data sources.  After quite a few such requests, it became apparent that we needed a better architecture to handle these requirements. So this change in policy was made and this new feature sneaked in!
