Hello Pune Joomlers !
The JUG Pune gang is back with a bang post the Diwali celebrations.
The November Meetup was on DATE and saw 8 enthusiastic Joomlers attend. The announcement of Joomla World Conference 2015 happening in India had got everyone super excited and all the folks wanted to know more.
Parth Lawate, the strategic Marketing Manager for Joomla was in attendance and talked about JWC15 - possible venues, audience etc. A key goal for JWC15 will be attracting the student community in India towards Joomla and energise the local communities.
This was followed by an Open Discussion on various topics.
In the open discussion, Vijay who is working on Joomla and is keen to spread awareness of Joomla in Colleges asked about the help he can get from JUG Pune team.
The team has decided to start collaborating on a document which will finally be published as a Joomla for Students presentation.
We hope that this will be a global effort about engaging students with Joomla and open source.
The plan now is to complete this asap so that folks like Vijay can use it to conduct sessions and seminars for the college students. You can find and add to the google doc here.
One more good news that was shared by Vidyasagar-Amol a duo from Sinhgad College and working was that Joomla has been added in Information Technology 3rd year syllabus for Pune University.
This news was a major confidence booster for us !
Finally we had a quick round of points on why one should join the JUG meetups. We discussed a ton of points and discovered ourselves that Jug meetups are a super sweet deal indeed !
Shantanu another active Joomler will publish a separate blog post on “Why you should attend JUG meetups” in detail soon. We hope this will help you promote your local JUGS too !
We’re sure everyone enjoyed this meetup and got to know something new. We missed few active JUG members. No worry guys, See you on 6th Dec 2014. We’ll publish topics soon.
When you subscribe to the blog, we will send you an e-mail when there are new updates on the site so you wouldn't miss them.
