Quick2Cart Adaptive payment issues.

I have two issues with Quick2Cart Adaptive payments.

First, when users are creating a store, the user can not select Adaptive payments as the payment option. The only choices are "paypal" and "other". I have both the "paypal" & "adaptive_paypal" plugins active and set as payment gateways in Quick2Cart global settings. Does anyone know why this is occurring and how the option is made available to vendors?

Second, when the "adaptive_paypal" plugin is set as the default payment gateway in the Quick2Cart global settings, as the buyer checks out of a store, the only active payment option is "pay by check" not "adaptive_paypal" and no option for paypal is shown at all. However, when both "paypal" & "adaptive_paypal" plugins are set as the payment gateways in Quick2Cart global settings, as the buyer checks out of a store, both options for paypal show, confusing the buyer as to which is adaptive. How can the "adaptive_paypal" plugin be set to be the only payment option available?
