Hi,

have been using j!mailalerts for my site for quite some time now, recently upgraded to new version 2.4.2 because I have the problem that Kunena topics are not mailed anymore (still not solved: see other thread).

I have some users that do not wish to receive the mailalerts (they don't know what they are missing out on :)
In the previous version they would go to the front-end and set the frequency to none.
In the table 'xxxx_email_alert' the field 'option' for these users would become 0 (which was the version for frequency none.
So far so good.

With the new version there is no frequency 'none', what I noticed is that when disabling in the front-end the 'Alert' (unchecking), the whole record of that user gets deleted from the 'xxxx_email_alert' table.

This i can understand... but when in the back-end pressing the 'sync' with the field 'Save the values irrespective of values of user. ' empty (!), the user that disabled the alert (whose record was deleted) is recreated in the table 'xxxx_email_alert' with the default setting > he will be receiving emails again.

Is this a glitch, bug, or misunderstanding on my account?

can somebody please help?

Communication and j!mailalerts are a very powerfull tool for our community, it can backfire with the same power if not working as how it is supposed to work!

regards,
Ruud.
