Hi,
thanks a lot for the new-and-improved j!mailalerts version.
Have installed it but noticed some 'issues':
1. you state that the plugins do not need to be uninstalled because they will be upgraded when installing the new verison of the plugins: this is not true for the kunena_16 plugin, this was not uninstalled! Actually it broke the newly installed kunena plugin > I resolved bij uninstalling both and re-installing the 2.5 version. This works now.
2. after removing the component and freshly installing the new version I noticed that the tables of the old version are still present in the database (xxxx_email_alert and xxxx_emai_alert_type) I suppose these can be deleted manually?
3. I really like that the new kunena plugin also has a text preview function, but it is implemented differently the the article plugin thus breaking the layout in the email (see screen capture)
4. because upgrading of the component doesn't work we have to do a fresh install, this also means that users who had unsubscribed from an alert are re-subscribed. How do I unsubscribe them? When I log in to the front-end and do an unsubscribe I see in the backend that the user's alert frequency is empty. This I cannot do manually (not an option) but only in the database by altering this users settings. Unpublishing this user (which is possible in the backend) does not have the same affect as this is not a setting that the user can undo.
5. when a user unsubscribes from an alert he will not receive the email (correct) but when I unpublish a user from the backend the mail IS sent! this does not make sense :)

Hope this helps!
regards, Ruud
