How can you manually add a donation in the backend?

If someone pays me personally, I'd like to log in and record that donation in the backend. I'd like to be able to enter the user (or make it anonymous) and the amount. Then have the campaign's total donations received be updated. Is this possible?
Do I have to do it in the database? If so, how?
