SEF and Canonical urls

Is there a way to change "campaign/1?layout=single" to a nice SEF URL such as "my-unique-campaign". I know how to do this with a menu item, but the problem is that all JGive internal links point to "campaign/1?layout=single". Then Google will not be happy as this is considered duplicate content

Is there a solution or is there a way to add a canonical url to Jgive internal links? Or do I need to buy a third party canonical extension to resolve this issue. If so, can you recommend one?
