I've spent most of this week sitting in front of my computer with a stop watch running tests, configuring my server and hassling my hosting firm about server settings, in an uphill battle to bring my page opening speed of my joomla site to that of the wordpress site running on my server as well. While the wordpress site opens pages in under 2 seconds, even all the way from Iceland to Australia, my Joomla site needed - before i got stuck into it - about 20-30 seconds per page.

I followed all the usual recommendations, but the one tip that made me contact you to minimise the number of javascripts loaded with each page. It said to keep it well under 5, better only 1 or 2. Following that advice, I had to uninstall jBolo, unhappy, but I rather have a super fast site than a chat feature that hardly anyone uses. Please do something about it.

My pages meanwhile open in under 10 seconds, so I'm getting closer to the 1.5 sec goal. However, I would like to get jBolo back on my site, but not at the price of massive loss of speed.
