Techjoomla- The Road to Joomla 1.6

Hey All,

All of you have been asking us about where we stand on Joomla 1.6 compatibility so I thought its time we give you an update of the status.

Current Major Extensions (Commercial)

• Network Suggest, People you may Know Modules for Community Builder & JomSocial -By April End
• JBolo! - The plan is to directly target code our revamped 3.0 release for 1.6 ( it will also be available for 1.5). This is a full rewrite so it will take a bit longer. Its already well under-way but we don't have a release date yet. Watch out for our blog posts about our progress.
• SocialAds - Major upgrade 2.5 coming soon for Joomla 1.5. This has delayed our starting on making it 1.6 compatible. So we shall be making 2.5 available for 1.5 as well as 1.6 most probably at the same time. Date - By April End
• Invitex - Major upgrade for 1.5 version with API invite support shall be released earlier & 1.6 support shall be added by 14th April.
• Mutual Friends Plugins - These should also be done at the most By April End
• Author Pages & Title Tags: We shall not be upgrading these to Joomla 1.6

Current Extensions ( Free )

• J!MailAlerts - By By April End
• Profile Completeness for CB & JomSocial: May End
• SC Meta: will not be needed in 1.6
• Logged in Homepage: No Dates announced yet
• J!Upgrade Notifier: No Dates announced yet

Upcoming Extensions

• Broadcast for JomSocial: Shall be released for Joomla 1.5 first by Mid May. 1.6 conversion will happen later.
• Activity Suggest for Social Networks: ;) this is new you are still to hear about it. This will mostly come out for 1.5 & 1.6 at the same time. No dates yet.
• JGrowl: Both 1.5 & 1.6 in May
