JomSocial 2.4 is here & our extensions work with it already !

JomSocial 2.4 was released recently & it comes with a slew of new features to empower your Joomla Social network.We have been working closely with the JomSocial team to ensure that all of our products work well with this new release.

How does the update affect Techjoomla Products ?

We have completed the testing of our products & are happy to report that all major extensions work flawlessly with JomSocial 2.4.So the good news is that you can upgrade without any issues..  In fact this release adds a bug fix which removes the need to hack the core JomSocial files for Integration with our Broadcast extension. All our Major extensions - SocialAds , Invitex, J!Bolo, Broadcast, J!MailAlerts & all JomSocial related plugins , Email Beautifier , People you may know, Network Suggest , Mutual Friends are fully compatible with the 2.4 release. Just make sure you download the latest versions of each.

JS Features & J!PHPlist are the extensions that are still waiting for an update for Joomla 1.7 & JomSocial 2.4. Of these the update for Featured shall be out by this month end.

Whats New in 2.4 ?

I have been looking at this version since the beta release & must say that its quite impressive. The added feature list is quite long in this release & the team has touched upon almost all areas & made them better.  Quite some attention has been given to Photo Management in this release.. Features like Geotagging for Photos, Drag & Drop upload, Better Photo Album view & the new Photo slider  go a great way in adding to the user experience.

Activity Stream & comments have quite a few improvements. What i was waiting for most was the ability to add multiple recipients to messages which in my opinion was a let down in earlier releases. Events has been touched up with a Calendar view & better RSVP. P.S. Look out for an exciting announcement about Event ticketing from us in the next week or so ;)
